another nut recipe. this time hot and spicy and with almonds.
hot cayenne tabasco almonds
-makes 4 cups-
found in "party nuts"
-4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
-4 tablespoons Tabasco sauce (any variety)
-4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
-2 teaspoons garlic powder
-1 teaspoon dry mustard
-1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-1 tablespoon kosher salt
1. Preheat the oven to 250 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Place all the ingredients, except the salt, in a large bowl and toss until the nuts are well coated.
2. Transfer the nuts to the prepared sheet and arrange in a single layer. place in the oven and cook, stirring every 15 minutes, until the nuts are darkened but not burnt, about 45 minutes.
4. Remove from the oven, immediately loosen the nuts with a metal spatula, sprinkle evenly with the salt, and set aside to cool before serving, or freezing.
