day 24

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. - Psalm 46:1-3

"If you need to pause, pause, and come back into the work when your ready."Then I chuckled a little and said, "even if you're not ready but think you can keep going...."

I said the above in this morning's cardio + strength class that I often think, but don't say aloud or actually don't process, I just do. I had pre-recorded today's class yesterday, so I heard myself saying it to me this morning.

One of the things about teaching movement, all types, is that I get to see first hand get stronger, more flexible, and realize that it's worth showing up. There are lots of things at work for the transformations in their bodies, but watching them realize it's worth the work, and they can do more than they thought they could/can, is inspiring to me.
My hope is that off the mat, they will take what they learned from their physical experience and apply it to other areas of their lives. Some do, and some don't, and that's okay because I know all the benefits they are getting are still creating positive impact. When you can move well, and do more things physically, that have a wonderful impact on your attitude.

But what about when it's really hard? What do you do then? There is a connection I believe we need to get when life seems to hard for us. As believers, the circumstances being too hard may be exactly where we need to keep showing up. Getting to the place where we willingly show up, relying on God to show up and help us through the next steps.... Those are the moments where the life transformation that God is after happens.

Like endless burpees and jumping jacks, life sometimes keeps throwing curve balls that don't stop.
When this happens, what actions are we taking?
- Within the chatter in our own heads
- The beliefs in our hearts
- The physical and emotional steps we take?

Are we moving from belief and faith, or allowing ourselves to take us out of the story and plan God has for us? Why or why not?
