double chocolate loaf.

I just finished my third cup of coffee this am.. yes, it has been a full week and it is only Friday. ;)

Yesterday, while making and freezing rice, I had to bake the double chocolate loaf (recipe in Baked Explorations). It is one of the recipes that have been on my "to try" list for quite awhile. The peanut butter cream cheese spread, as seen in the second photo, puts it over the top. The best part is another loaf is in the freezer ready for another morning.

More time in the kitchen for me today... have a wonderful weekend!

*Note on the loaf: So far, 2 out of 3 kids liked it. One is at a friends so I will see what she thinks later.

  1. Oh I make a double choc loaf cake that also freezes well, I wonder if they are the same? (I found the recipe on the internet). Love the idea of cream cheese and peanut butter spread, sadly I have a self imposed ban on peanut butter as I'd eat the jar in one sitting since I became addicted during my second pregnancy :) Bethx

  2. Hee, hee... it is amazing what happens during pregnancy. My worst was a love for jalapeno peppers - I still like them, but not to the extreme like I did when pregnant. I bet the loaf breads are close, this is the second recipe I've used. It's a bit sweet, but not too much. Lots of cocoa powder and dark chocolate?

  3. Yes I like a quite grown up chocolate taste, I don't have a very sweet tooth. the recipe I have includes some ground almonds and so makes a very moist chocolate loaf cake. It's making me want some writing this - lol! Bx

  4. Beth, if you ever have some extra time, I'd love your recipe. Mine doesn't have almonds and that sounds really good. Thanks!
