lilacs.

When I was young, very young, we lived in North Dakota. Way back then we were a farming family and there was a row of lilacs between the house and the quonsets. To get to the opposing side, we walked on a path my Grandparents had made. I will always remember the springs - allergy free by the way - in which I would imagine many different adventures walking that narrow path. When we moved here 9 years ago there was a lilac bush... however the dear is on the north side of the house and lilacs like a bit more sun then that, so for several years I have been moving starts to different spots. I have a really good planting of them growing on the south side and I love it when their scent drifts into the house - a mix of fond memories from the past and ones being made in the present accompanies the sweet scent.
